Summary: Joseph served his master even though he had his roots torn up and was transplanted to an unfamiliar place. He was treated unfairly and yet did not grow bitter about his circumstances. Jesus suffered wrongfully and yet he was patient during suffering. Can we suffer patiently when we are punished for doing what is right? Daniel was taken out of his familiar surroundings and served willingly in captivity, was punished for doing what was right and yet he remained faithful. Paul was called to many places and endured much hardship and yet still prayed and sang in prison. Godliness with contentment is great gain. In everything give thanks. Avoid a complaining spirit.
