Summary: True generosity does not give out of a desire to be recognized, but rather to bless others the way Jesus did for us. We are only asked to give of things that we have. It may be talents, or time, or money. We do not need to have lots of stuff to give, but rather we must give even when we do not have much. It should be the love of God for us that causes us to be willing to give. It doesn't have to be a big thing we are giving, but the giving should cause us joy to know that we gave what we could. And even though it may be small, God will make the increase, and cause it to affect a great many others around us. Let's not let our own wants keep us from giving to others, but rather be a willing and cheerful giver. People can tell when our giving is from generosity or not. God loveth a cheerful giver! Generosity from people that are struggling inspires those who are looking on, or those who may be struggling themselves.
