Summary: The Old Testament has approximately 80 miracles starting with Creation. Why are there so many miracles in the Old & New Testaments and seemingly so few today? A miracle is something that overrides God's laws of nature as we know them, always an exception to the pattern of normal events; a temporary suspension of normal patterns. An act of God never contradicts God's nature. God uses miracles to provide for human needs. God uses miracles to arrest the people's attention for Him. God uses miracles as a confirmation who He is to strengthen man's faith. In the New Testament many of the miracles confirmed the Deity of Christ. We need to be aware that a miracle is not a big deal to God even though we are awestruck by them. God never creates anything that gets out of his control. God brings us into helpless situations so we realize our utter dependence on him.
